Academic Advisement - Dual Enrollment - Credit Recovery

Grade Level Advisement Meetings

Seniors

Beginning in September and continuing through October, counselors meet with all seniors to review graduation requirements and post-secondary plans. Each senior will schedule a 30-minute meeting with their counselor via a Teams meeting. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to join. 

 
Juniors

Beginning in October and continuing through November, counselors meet with all juniors to review graduation requirements, plan next year's classes, and discuss post-secondary options. Each junior will schedule a 30-minute meeting with their counselor via a Teams meeting. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to join. 

Juniors and their parents/guardians are asked to view the informational presentation below (COMING SOON!) before the meeting with their counselor. In addition, the following Naviance tasks must be completed by the student before the appointment:

  • Complete SuperMarch college search and save at least three colleges to their Naviance account.

  • Compete the Dual Enrollment survey.

  • Complete the Workforce Development survey.

Students access their Naviance account through their FCS ClassLink. NOTE: You do not need registration code to access Naviance. Look for the teal icon that says Naviance-Student.​​

 
Sophomores & Freshmen 

Beginning in February and continuing through the end of the school year, Sophomore and Freshman students will be invited to attend a meeting with their counselor. Student can schedule a 20-minute Teams meeting to discuss graduation requirements and their 4-Year graduation plan. 

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment (DE) provides funding for students enrolled in eligible high schools to attend Georgia colleges, universities, and technical schools where they will take approved college-level coursework. Credit for these courses will be applied to both high school and college.

Am I a Good Fit for DE?
DE students become students of the college, not just the high school. Therefore, they should exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Can articulate why he/she is interested in DE

  • Meets college DE admissions requirements

  • Can follow through on multi-step tasks

  • Self-motivated

  • Self-starter

  • Mature

  • Organized

  • Takes initiative

  • Responsible

  • Has a specific pathway planned for graduation

Fulton County Credit Recovery & Summer School 

Fulton County Credit Recovery (FCCR)

FAVE offers a Fulton County Credit Recovery (FCCR) program that allows students to recovery failed courses during the school year. These courses operate uniquely different from our normal FAVE courses. Students are able to complete a course within 9 weeks and add an additional course once completed!  

For more information and to enroll in a FCCR course, please contact your assigned School Counselor.
*The FCCR program is not approved by the NCAA.
